Why We Built This Site
Nicholas County has two important Carlisle addresses for records work. Court filings, dockets, certified court copies, traffic matters, probate cases, and Circuit, Family, or District Court records route through the Nicholas County Judicial Center on North Broadway. County recordings, marriage licenses, recorded wills, fiscal court minutes, elections, and several elected county offices remain tied to the historic courthouse on East Main Street.
Those lines are easy to blur. Kentucky's Circuit Court Clerk handles case records for Circuit Court, Family Court, District Court, and Business Court. Nicholas County's County Clerk is a separate county official who handles deeds, mortgages, liens, marriage licenses, recorded wills, notary work, elections, and other county records. Jail custody adds another layer because Nicholas County detainees are housed through Bourbon County Regional Jail in Paris.
